Dr. Carl Johnson's academic journey is a testament to his dedication and commitment. A native of Richmond, Virginia, he began his educational pursuits at Saint Paul's College in Lawrenceville, Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management in 1999. He furthered his studies at Virginia Union University School of Theology, graduating with a Master of Divinity in 2002. His academic journey culminated at Howard University, where he obtained his Doctor of Ministry in 2008. His Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society membership further recognizes his academic excellence.

He is the Assistant Secretary of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia, a member of the board of Trustees of the Baptist Children's Home of Virginia, the second Vice President of Area 1, and the former President of Area 1 of the Northern Virginia Baptist Association.  He has facilitated numerous leadership workshops through the state of Virginia Churches and local and state Conventions, such as Deacons, Deaconess, Trustees, Men, Christian Education Directors, and youth and youth leaders. He has provided specialty workshops on Conflict Management and Congregational Studies nationwide.

Dr. Johnson's personal life is a testament to his values and beliefs. His deep commitment to his family is evident in his marriage to the former Robin Taylor and his pride in being the father of four children and seven grandchildren.

                                      Dr. Johnson's hypothesis is "If you put an end to oppression, to every gesture of contempt,
                                      and to every evil word; if you give food to the hungry and satisfy those who are in need,
                                                                                    then the darkness around you will turn to the brightness of noon" -- (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 58:9-11).
